Last month, three events celebrated pioneer FM rock station KSAN-FM and its induction into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame(as "Legendary Station of the Year."

It was the date John Lennon met Paul McCartney, when an Elvis record first aired, when Prairie Home Companion and Candid Microphone were first heard on the radio. Peter Mansbridge, Merv Griffin, Della Reese, Bill Haley and Laverne Andrews were born, while Roy Rogers, Buddy Ebsen, and Cameron Mitchell were claimed by the Grim Reaper. July 5th gave us musicians Huey Lewis and Robbie Robertson, actresses Edie Falco and Katherine Helmond, and boxing commentator Don Dunphy. It saw the debuts of radio series Maisie, My Favorite Husband, and The Adventures of Nero Wolfe. Seinfeld had its premiere on NBC-TV, Anne Murray hosted Midnight Special, and Ray Charles recorded 'Hit the Road, Jack.'
