Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress. Indeed, a song that make you picture the woman of your dreams while the song is being sung. It takes you away for a moment.
But, let me throw in another one, by Tim Buckley from his Greetings From L.A. album, Get On Top being the song.
“Well that girl walks in a stormy bitching whine
Well she moves that cobra waltz all across the floor
Tell your mama to sing out, like a slow burn
Slow burn your motel walls, over me.”
The cobra waltz. Oh man. Yes, I have seen it and paid the price. Ok folks. I understand.. The Hollies were clean-cut and Tim Buckley was a a bit raunchy. But not as raunchy as James White and the Blacks could be.
