Vancouver Radio Vet Ted Farr has a New Gig in Kelowna

8

As first brought to our attention on Gord Lansdell’s Northwest Broadcasters site, Ted Farr has announced via Facebook that he is coming out of semi-retirement to join AM1150 Kelowna.  He’ll be reading radio news for the first time in 37 years in the midday time slot.

Farr’s career includes time as PD at CKWX-AM and KISS FM Vancouver, and other on-air and senior programming roles, including being “Tall Ted” Farr the newsman on CKLG’s Doc Harris Show (1969-71).  He has also accepted radio assignments in Winnipeg, Calgary and Saskatoon.

He has been president of Ted Farr Media Inc. for the past decade, and is a member of the BC Country Music Assoc. Hall of Fame.

  1. Sorry Terry, have to disgree…any format that charges for advertising should be included in the ratings survey.
Advertisors need to know where their money is best spent.

  2. Tim, your constant defense of NW/Corus is admirable. If you’re in no way shape or form connected to NW or Corus you are truly a fan of poor radio. BUT if you work for or live with or are related to anyone connected with NW or Corus you are truly a POS

  3. BTW NWs news readers are very bad. They even fired the one that showed some ability. Jeremy Lye? Not sure about the spelling.
Also tim being right behind CBC is not much of an accolade.
