A longtime CHEK TV personality was remembered today (Saturday) by his family and friends in Qualicum Beach. Talk show host John Barton, of “Barton & Company” was a big face in Victoria through the 70′s and early 1980′s…but his legacy maybe more about the life he lived off camera than on.

A terrific guy and one of the most professional broadcasters I’ve ever known, I was honoured to work with John on the CHEK-TV production ‘Barton & Company’. The industry has lost a major contributor to its history.
I notice he even did station voice-overs for CHEK. He was also the MC for the opening of BC Place in Vancouver in 1983.
