In the wake of CBC announcing that Peter Mansbridge will step down as anchor at The National, other changes are afoot in the world of Canadian TV news programs.

CTV announced today (September 6) that Emmy Award–winning Journalist Kevin Newman will take the helm at the Canadian investigative news TV series W5 on October 1.

Newman succeeds former W5 host and chief correspondent Lloyd Robertson. Robertson had hosted the show since 2011 after he resigned as chief anchor and senior editor of CTV National News, a position he held for 35 years.

Robertson, now aged 82, will take up a new role as CTV News special correspondent on W5 and on CTV News.
