VANCOUVER, BC (August 2016) – The Music Therapy Ride is gearing up for a milestone celebration to mark 15 years of support for music therapy services in British Columbia. On September 17th, more than 150 motorcycles will hit the Sea-to-Sky Highway with a presidential escort from the Vancouver Motorcycle Police Drill Team, their goal to break a million dollars in funds raised to date. Help share the healing power of music by registering to ride or donating at musictherapyride.org.
“We’re really excited to hit the road for the 15th Annual Music Therapy Ride on September 17th,” said Patrick Zulinov, co-founder, Music Therapy Ride. “When we started this initiative 15 years ago we had hoped to bring the music and riding community together to share the healing power of music. We’re so proud of the 24 programs we’ve been able to fund so far. We’ve raised $850,000 to date and are going to work hard to pass the $1M mark on this milestone ride.”
NEW THIS YEAR
Music Therapy Ride is excited to share a new way for both riders and non-riders to participate this year. In a commitment to make our 15th year the best yet, we’re adding a personal fundraising component so we can fund even more music therapy programs over the year ahead. Registration takes just a few minutes and is open to both riders and non-riders that are interested in sharing the healing power of music. Register today here.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
MTR has raised more than $850,000 enabling the delivery of 24 music therapy programs and the production of 11 Bandwagons—innovative mobile recording studios used by therapists at care facilities. “I’m a music therapist that has been lucky enough to use a Bandwagon to create unique and meaningful music therapy for clients all over the province of B.C,” said Carolyn Neapole, MTA, AVTP. “It not only offers people a chance to be seen and heard, it opens hearts and changes lives.”
