After a yearlong hiatus, the Sports/Talk radio duo of Brock & Salk are back together on 710 ESPN (KIRO-AM/Seattle) where they’ll move into morning drive starting next Monday (7/14) at 7am.
Mike Salk and former University of Washington and NFL quarterback Brock Huard first paired up back in April 2009, achieving considerable success in the market before Salk left in 2013 for what turned out to be a brief gig at WEEI/Boston.
He returned to KIRO-AM earlier this year as Program Director and will now add daily on-air duties with his former radio partner to his day. “I’m ecstatic,” said Huard. “Mike and I have a unique chemistry and we can’t wait to continue the great conversation we put on pause a year ago.”
Concurrent with Brock & Salk’s arrival next week, 710 ESPN host Danny O’Neill will team with former Seahawks linebacker Dave Wyman and Seattle sportswriter Jim Moore in afternoon drive, while Michael Grey will move to a new midday slot (10am-noon).
He’ll be followed by Bob & Groz — Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby – from noon-3pm. Nightwatch with Tom Wassell will remain in its weekday 7-9pm timeslot.

Impressive that KIRO AM has been able to more than double the numbers of its main competitor KJR AM 950, despite the fact that the latter station has always had a very competent live local breakfast show .. and 710 didn’t go live and local until 9 am.
Now with a strong local pairing debuting in the 7-10 am daypart you’d have to think the gap would only widen.
