710 ESPN Seattle (KIRO-AM) is expanding to 14 hours of local, weekday programming with the addition of Gee Scott to host 7-9pm weeknights, beginning June 13th.
In his new role Scott (right) — who has developed close, personal relationships with many Seattle Seahawks players, coaches and staff — will also deliver his unique perspectives from inside the locker room in a new, comprehensive role for 710sports.com.
“I’m looking forward to taking listeners behind the curtain to see what it’s really like in the player’s locker room,” said Scott. “This new opportunity will allow Seattle sports fans to feel more connected to their favorite players than ever before.”
Scott’s journey into the Seattle sports scene began in 2003, cleaning the vehicles of Seahawks’ players and coaches. After a decade developing valuable relationships within the local sports community, Scott worked on The Barbershop radio show alongside former local football stars Marcus Trufant and Terry Hollimon. Since March 2015, he was co-host of the 10-noon Jason & Gee Show which was cancelled last week.
He’s also become a prominent motivational speaker, auctioneer and emcee, in addition to his duties with the Bonneville-owned Sports/Talker.
“This show will be a great complement to the rest of the 710 ESPN Seattle lineup,” said program director Mike Salk. “Gee has a special relationship with both listeners and players. He is so adept at bringing those two worlds together in a compelling way.”
During the baseball season, Scott will be heard on those nights when he is not preempted by Mariners playbyplay.
