Shakeup at ‘The View’: Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy Sacked

The ‘firings’ were said to have been announced during a network meeting late Thursday afternoon, TMZ is reporting.

Jenny came on board to the female-dominated talk show last September, but not everyone was pleased with the chemistry and the uneven dynamics lead to her apparent dismissal.

They’re out: Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd both apparently were axed from The View on Thursday, which leaves only Whoopi since Barbara Walters retired from the show in May

Sherri let it be known she was exiting the chat show via a statement released to Deadline.com earlier on Thursday.

‘It’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on,’ Shepherd said. ‘I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Gedde for giving me the opportunity.’

She added: ‘I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.’

Barbara Walters already retired from The View in May, and evidently executive producer Bill Geddie may be turning in his keycard.

Jenny, at least, might be feeling some relief to what was obviously a hectic schedule.

The single mother often lamented on the show how hard it was to be a parent and work full time.

The bubbly blonde happily announced her engagement to actor Donnie Wahlberg on The View in April, so one can assume she won’t be crying over her lost position.

The former Playboy pin-up has been busy planning her wedding and finding the perfect dress to walk down the aisle.

Sherri, meanwhile, has been involved in a contentious divorce with husband Lamar Sally after abruptly filing papers to end their marriage on May 2.

‘I say you can’t beat yourself up when you know you’ve made the wrong choice in a guy,’ Sherri told Us Weekly at an event on June 10.

‘You look, you do some introspective work, and you try not to make the same mistake.’
