New In Seattle
HUBBARD BROADCASTING Hot AC KLCK/SEATTLE, which had been stunting for the past five days with random music programming from artists of various genres, officially flipped to Rock KVRQ (ROCK 98-9) at NOON PT. It’s launching with a 12,000-song commercial-free kick-off, which is expected to take about 30 days.
“Our market research throughout SEATTLE showed that with only two major FMs serving Rock listeners, a huge opportunity is available for Rock 98-9,” HUBBARD RADIO/SEATTLE Market Manager MARC KAYE stated. “We will be SEATTLE’s station for a wide span of Rock, with artists like AC/DC, FOO FIGHTERS, VAN HALEN, NIRVANA AND GUNS ‘N ROSES. ROCK 98-9 will play the most rock on the radio in SEATTLE.”
“Our first mission is to attract a wildly creative, mad genius programmer to lead this brand and connect with guys in a no-bones, no bull, entertaining fashion,” HUBBARD RADIO SVP/Programming GREG SOLK said. “ROCK 98-9 will be unconventional in its thinking and we want a programming leader to build a very unique Rock station — that’s unorthodox, passionate and slightly off-center.
“If you would like to live and work in an amazing city with award winning food and beer, a decent football team, and program Rock for HUBBARD, let’s hear from you,” KAYE added.
