Interesting to see after the removal of Larry in the morning on LG104, the numbers are starting to look healthy… Hey, I love Larry, just wondering…
The major jump of LG104 is actually due to a heavy promotion of LG104 on CISL 650, its sister station which have a similar music format: look at the rating of both station, while LG gain 1.7 on the rating, CISL faced a dramatically drop of 1.9 since last season. Still, they lost 0.2 over the season in total.
I bet there are also a major switch over between the audiences on ROCK 101 and LG104, while ROCK 101 goes 90’s seems kicking some fans to LG, the lost of Larry on LG Morning Show pushes people to listen to Larry’s old buddy, Willy.
I noticed both Rogers stations are losing listeners. KISS is dead with their morning lineup today, and Jack lacks a good promotional strategy. Texting those stations means a whole lot of unexciting radio, poor management again at Rogers. Virgin is getting those listeners who are completely turned off by KISS. CISL has to be in a losing money situation, subsidized by their other stations.
