Global Edmonton’s Seanna Collins & her crew visited Alberta’s legendary radio station CFCW to talk about the stations new frequency at 840 on the AM dial. Program Director Jackie Rae shares some of the history, along with audio clips from the debut of the radio station in 1954 and introduces new morning man Sean Burke
What a great interview! Brings fond memories for me, spending time with my dog at the station in Camrose, pulling LPs off the shelf for Bev’s request line, entering a frog jumping competition with him, going to find Curly at the Alice Hotel. My father, Warren Holte, played a key role in the success of the station and it was a second home to me. It’s so exciting to watch the station grow and evolve through the efforts of some remarkable individuals. Here’s to your continued success!
(((EXCELENT , EXCELLENT ,EXCELLENT))) job JR that is the way it was !!!
Very excellent interview. I have been listening to CFCW for 12 years now and I love the history shared in this story.
What a great feature on the legendary CFCW with Global Edmonton’s Seanna Collins.
I was however a little dissapointed with no mention of Sharon Mallon. Sharon spent 14 years at CFCW, 10 of those years were on the morning show. I’m sure Sharon’s fans will always show her love. Miss you on the air Sharon, keep up with the great work with your best selling book.
