  • ALL ACCESS sends out condolences to the family of veteran SEATTLE radio news voice JIM KAMPMANN, who died over the weekend. The three-decade-plus radio personality, a ST. PAUL, MN, native, was known for his distinct voiceovers, production work and personality.
  • KAMPMANN got his start in radio as a VETERAN’S HOSPITAL closed-circuit station volunteer, in WALLA WALLA, WA., in 1968. His first commercial radio job was in 1970 at KKGF/GREAT FALLS, MONTANA, before a six-year run in SPOKANE with stints at KREM, KXLY and KJRB. He was “the news guy” on ENTERCOM COMMUNICATIONS Rock KISW-F (99.9 THE ROCK)/SEATTLE-TACOMA for 17 years, worked at iHEARTMEDIA Sports KJR (950 AM) and capped off his career as part of the “JIM & JIM Morning Show” on HUBBARD BROADCASTING Adult Standards/Oldies KIXI (RETRO RADIO AM 880).
  • KAMPMANN taught a course in Broadcast Journalism for many years at GREEN RIVER COMMUNITY COLLEGE and did local, national and international voice work for BOEING, MICROSOFT, AT&T, McDONALD’S and OUTSIDE MAGAZINE, receiving numerous awards in journalism and advertising. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, ANN.
