If you were a kid growing up around Southern Alberta area during the 1967 through the 70’s, 80s and even upnto 1997, “THE BUCKSHOT SHOW” was a children’s staple on CFCN TV. The weekday mid-morning show slot was prime time for youngsters.
The show was hosted by Ron Barge who played “Buckshot” along with his best friend “Benny T- Bear”.
One of my early memories was when I was about three years old, I remember my grandparents Anita and Bill Helton drove me up to CFCN-TV studios on Broadcast Hill and I was a guest on the show as many kids were.
In real life, Ron Barge was a true community minded person, kind on camera and off camera .
