Monday brings a big change for the CKWX brand, with a fresh rebrand aimed at reinforcing our commitment to you, our audience.

Starting July 29, CityNews 1130 will be 1130 NewsRadio Vancouver. While our name and colours might be slightly different, our promise to deliver quality, accurate, and local breaking news, traffic, and weather remains the same.

1130 NewsRadio is Vancouver’s trusted news station. The more you listen, the more you’ll know.

Listen for Traffic and Weather, together every 10 minutes on the ones, as well as Traffic Alerts in between when things happen. We also have your Breaking News covered on-air and online, with breaking news alerts sent directly to your inbox.

You can still catch us on 1130 AM radio, online at vancouver.citynews.ca, and on all your streaming devices.

  1. I am sorry to see that “Now You Know With Rob Snow” has been removed. I enjoyed his comments and especially his informed guests. Meanwhile, the format has not changed. The news script never gets revised and gets repeated ad infinitum. Some of the presenters and reporters need speech lessons. International news is scant. I wish management would replace the ABC News voice reports with something more literate (BBC News, CBS News).

  2. Good thing they dropped that garbage talk show. It didn’t belong on a 24 hour news channel. Now why is 1130 STEALING CKNW’s colours? How pathetic. They should be sued. 1130 News needs to go back to News 1130 and the Green colouring branding which was clearly identifiable and when they actually had decent ratings. It’s amazing how incompetent the people are running the show from ‘wherever’ they are.

  3. RE: Cephas

People need to get over “the old days”! This isn’t the old days anymore and it’s time to move on. Let the next generation do the job, or what’s left of it. If you don’t like the “speech” or how they say something, then don’t watch or listen to it. Honestly it’s really that simple. Bashing individuals, complaining about what they do, isn’t going to bring back the “old days”! Get over it already. This isn’t me being rude to you in any way so please don’t take it like that. It will NEVER go back to what it was and if that to difficult for you then don’t listen or watch. 🤷‍♂️

    • A good point, Jonathan. Whenever I want to listen to something substantial and literate, I will listen to the BBC World Service on the internet.

  4. Jonathan and Alex…
Nothing wrong with reminiscing about quality radio. You’re probably right though, that with today’s Bizarro world it won’t be back. Just don’t encourage me to move over to the ultra-liberal CBC.

  5. And Alex…I forgot to mention…it’s hard to find the BBC’s account for details on the latest shooting in Vancouver.
