In 1974, Songbird was formed. Band members included Howard Leese, Steve Moyer, Robert (Pianoman) Deans and Don Hardy were the stage band of Columbia recording artist Tom Middleton. Mike Easton was responsible for securing Middleton’s recording contract as well as securing Tom’s band Songbird at a new Victoria night club called The Thatch, located at the Royal Oak Inn. Dirty Work was their first release, followed by I believe. Howard Leese left the band to join with Seattle’s Heart, and that pretty well left Songbird adrift…
