Winners Include KIRO-FM, KISW, KQMV
SEATTLE-TACOMA: Keep The Line Movin’
HUBBARD Top 40/M KQMV (MOVIN’) kept one foot in front of the other as it captured its fifth straight #1 book (6.8-6.2). Meanwhile, BONNEVILLE TALK KIRO-F used the power of the 12th man to move up to #2 – its fourth straight up book (5.1-5.7). ENTERCOM Active Rock KISW took a step back to #3 with a feeling of flatness (5.2-5.2). There was a two-for-one special at #4. HUBBARD AC KRWM (WARM) was labeled as “resident” with a small downturn (5.0-4.9) while ENTERCOM Country KKWF (THE WOLF) moved in as “occupant” from #5 with a small increase (4.8-4.9). CBS RADIO Classic Rock KZOK made a move, driving up three places to #6 with its highest share since JULY (3.9-4.8).
Of all the stations in the top five 25-54 (hint: this is a trick question), how many did not change position? Keep reading. KISW moved up to #1 despite a slight loss of share. KQMV slipped back to #2 with a slightly larger loss of share. The one recalcitrant station was KIRO-F, which remained at #3 with a slight increase. KZOK ended its three-book slide in style as it rose three places to #4. There was a three-way conference call going on at #5. KKWF and CBS RADIO Adult Hits KJAQ (JACK) remained tied as they fell back from #4 while CRISTA Christian Contemporary KCMS (SPIRIT) flew in from #6 while being flat.
KQMV continued to pound the competition 18-34 with its seventh straight #1 book. KISW was up for the fourth straight book and remained at #2 but was well behind the leader. ENTERCOM Alternative KNDD (THE END) moved up to #3. The station has been stronger ever since it instituted its #2minutepromise back in JULY. KKWF dropped back to #4 with its lowest total since APRIL. KJAQ and iHEARTMEDIA Top 40/M KBKS (KISS) traded places. The former moved up to #5 with its best book in over a year while the latter fell to #6 with its lowest share over that same span.
Things got a little tighter 18-49. KQMV was still #1 but drew closer to #2 KISW. Both stations were down and we’ll leave it to you to figure out which lost more. KKWF was flat-pawed at #3 while KCMS remained at #4 despite landing its best number in over a year. KJAQ slipped back to #5 even though it, too, had its best book in over a year.
