According to Gord Lansdell at the Northwest Broadcasters site, Al Ford has been named new Program Director for JACK CKLG-FM 96.9 Vancouver.
After working for years at The Q 100.3 in Victoria, and helping to launch sister station The Zone 91.3 in 2001, he moved to Edmonton in 2005 to get Sonic CHDI-FM 102.9 off the ground, and was named Program Director of the year for Canada along with receiving Station of the Year awards for three of the past four years.
Al’s start date at Jack Vancouver is yet to be announced.
it will be nice if he can fix the sound there. Maybe turn it into a legitimate contender for cfox and cfmi. Jacks playlist is too off the wall and I can’t stand listening to more then a couple songs in a row
Legitimate contender? Have you seen the last few ratings books? They are contenders right now!
Does this mean Murray Brookshaw is out, gone, fired?
Word on the street is that Brookshaw’s been hired away for the National PD gig at Vista Radio. Be interesting to see what Ford does to keep Jack up near the top. One hopes he doesn’t make it a contender for CFOX type numbers as that might be counterintuitive.
