Fifty years in any career is a huge milestone, and even more so in the broadcast industry.
In the days of layoffs and cutbacks it’s rare to see someone spend their entire career on-air, but that’s exactly what Ed Bain has done, and CHEK News is celebrating Ed for his half-century of not only entertaining us, but giving us his all.
From radio gags to TV gold, Ed has become synonymous with Vancouver Island over the past five decades.
He joined “The Q Morning Show” in 1987 and CHEK News in 1999, and has won several broadcasting awards, including the Canadian Association of Broadcasters “Gold Ribbon Award” for Radio Humour and the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters “Broadcaster of the Year” in 2005.
