And that’s a wrap for Steele and Vance on CHEK TV

14

Steele has been in the media industry for more than 35 years, and her career has spanned several networks, including Global, CTV, CBC, and Corus.

Vance has also spent decades on TV and radio across the country. She was also the first woman in the history of Canadian television to host her own prime-time sports show.

It’s unclear what’s next for the two former co-hosts, but the last episode of Steele and Vance airs tonight at 8 pm.

  1. Finally some good news! This low rent version of The View featuring two woke diva scolds was a blight on society. They were some of the biggest propagandists during the scamdemic and directed nothing but hate speech at dissenters. Good riddance.

  2. Interesting. I never watched the program. However, I did listen to Jody Vance on occasion when she worked at CKNW, and she had right of centre views.

    • My error, I meant to refer to Linda Steele. Bruce Allen was a frequent guest on her program, and he is not exactly a left winger.

  3. Steve…
Don’t want to beat a dead horse, but look up her Trump talks. The man is no saint, but the alternative is ridiculous.

  4. I’m sure they’re nice people, but talk show hosts they are not. Couple that with a cheap looking set, and the same old, same old ‘guests’ and I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did. Scrolled by it a couple of times but for me, not watchable.

  5. Steele and Vance CANCELLED!
CHEK just got rid of woke. Could they be going broke?
They pushed the vaccines, Steele, Vance and CHEK.
People are dying and maimed from the jabs.
    Have crimes been committed?

    • What a bunch of #BULLSHITE People in Canada HAVE NOT, HAVE NOT died from COVID VACCINES! What a bunch of horse patootie!

  6. I’ve heard but haven’t been able to confirm that Chek gets a lot of money from Trudeau’s media bailout funds. They also are very tight with the NDP and I’ve seen a large amount of Provincial government advertising on the far left station. The son of another well known legacy media propagandist runs their news department. Steele & Vance had Bonnie Henry on for a love-in and Donnie & Dhali had Horgan on their supposedly sport show.

    • obiwan, We’ve had it confirmed by reliable sources, that CHEK gets a minimum of $3 million annually, then there’s the government advertising

  7. They are basically a government funded far left propaganda channel. This is not democracy. The ratings for S&V must have been atrocious for them to cancel the show. I believe Steele is married to a VPD cop but she’s still jumped on board the woke = marxist bandwagon. Hopefully this is the last we’ve seen or heard from either one of them especially on the public dime. OBoy Productions is owned by former BCTV reporter Stu McNish.

  8. obiwan,

Lynda Steele is married to Surrey Police Service Chief Constable Norm Lipinski. He makes $285k a year, and drives a company car a couple times a week from their waterfront condo in Gastown.

A little birdie told me that Vance and Steele had a diva-esque arrangement with their contract that included a hair and make up crew that no other CHEK host has. Add to that their overly woke agenda which got terrible ratings, and it’s surprising they lasted two full seasons.

Rumour has it that Carole Taylor might be walking the plank soon, and I wouldn’t be surprised if either a edgier Steele or Vance was invited back to relaunch a stripped down show in the fall.

  9. I believe CHEK sells the hour to whomever, then they, in this case Steele and Vance have to hustle up advertisers to pay for it, with something leftover for salaries. No viewers, no interest from advertisers but you still have to pay the weekly fee to the station. Simple as that.

  10. Vance blocked me which I thought was rather tacky as the show was supposedly about conversation and opinion. Perhaps if they accepted input the show would have lasted.
