BCIT has established the Roy Hennessy Achievement Award for Excellence in Broadcasting

 The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) has established the Roy Hennessy Achievement Award for Excellence in Broadcasting. Each year, the top student in BCIT’s Broadcast Radio program will receive a $1000 scholarship award. Hennessy started his career at CKOK Penticton in 1962, then entertained at CKLG and CKLG-FM/ CFOX-FM Vancouver from 1964-79 before moving to management positions in Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. He later returned to Vancouver as the Chairman of Shore Media Group (CHHR-FM) from 2008-10. He passed away June 7, 2022 at age 80.
