  1. WABC spent most of Thursday paying tribute to Bernard McGuirk. I listened to a couple hours of Frank Murronno’s “The Other Side of Midnight” (IMHO one of the best live all-night radio programs on terestrial radio today), and Frank was taking listener calls, as well as playing back some of Bernard’s past bits, including some prank phone calls he made to other hosts on WFAN back in the day. He also replayed the infamous comment about the Rutger’s women’s basketball team that got Imus and crew fired from WFAN in 2007. McGuirk was clearly loved by many New Yorkers. It will be interesting to see what WABC will do now in morning drive. The station’s mix of weekday talk and weekend music programming has reallly been working in it’s favour.
