Summer is when talk/news stations usually decline in ratings and music stations usually go up. So the ratings tanking of 99.3 and 104.3 should be a major concern to those stations. Maybe 104.3 will follow the lead of 102.7 and switch formats but over the years the problem with 104.3 hasn’t been so much the format, it’s the manangement.
As far as 102.7 goes, it’s normal for a station to suffer short-term rating loss after a format change. The fall ratings will give a better idea as to whether the 102.7’s NOW format was the right move or not.
Major credit to JR for staying the course over the years and simply being a fun radio station. The dominance of country radio in Vancouver won’t last forever but there are two things helping JR: 1) no competition and 2) high-profile country artists and tours.
104.3 tanking??? It looks like the best ratings ever or am I reading it wrong??
I too thought it was a best-ever rating.
Maybe he meant 104.9
sorry totally correct, meant 104.9
