New Investigative Podcast from Global News and Curi
For Immediate Release
TORONTO, NOVEMBER 9, 2020 – Corus Entertainment’s award-winning podcast network Curiouscast, announced today the launch of brand new investigative podcast 13 Hours: Inside the Nova Scotia Massacre. With Canada’s deadliest shooting spree in modern history leaving the country with more questions than answers, Global Halifax reporter Sarah Ritchie and Global Torontoproducer Alex Kress take listeners on a journey inside every hour of the tragedy as it happened.
“This tragedy has had such a deep impact on so many people in Nova Scotia, and across the country. For Nova Scotians in particular, I think it’s shaken the core of our identity in a way,” said host Sarah Ritchie. “With so many outstanding questions, we worked hard to get answers. We hope listeners come away with a better understanding of what happened that terrible weekend – but most of all we hope they get to know the people who were lost, and the lives they lived.”
A 13-part series, 13 Hours looks to piece together exactly what happened and what could have been done to prevent it. The first two episodes are available on all major podcast platforms now, with new episodes released bi-weekly.
“We decided to embark on this difficult task of relaying such a heavy and complex story through an investigative podcast series. It was important to us to give the story the time it deserves, so we could tell it to the fullest degree,” said producer Alex Kress. “Our driving force throughout the process has always been the victims and their loved ones. We’re going back to the beginning, guiding listeners through the tragedy over 13 episodes so that we can try to absorb how this happened, hour by hour.”
