The search for the next VP/GM at Cox Media Group‘s CBS affiliate serving the Seattle-Tacoma market is over.
The news of a new leader at KIRO-7 comes just three days after the media company now tied to Apollo Global Management revealed its current leader, Greg Bilte, would retire as of June 30.
Taking the role of VP/GM at KIRO, effective July 1, is Pat Nevin.
The veteran television industry executive has served as VP/GM of KOIN-6, the Nexstar-owned CBS affiliate serving Portland, Ore., since January 2017.
It’s an interesting choice, in the sense that both Nevin and Bilte have stops in Spokane on their resume. In the case of Nevin, it involve KHQ-6, the NBC affiliate. He then shifted to Seattle, for a role at KSTW-11, today the CW Network affiliate for the market.

KIRO needs a shakeup IMO. Seems dull and unimportant. I would hope there is a renewed energy there at the base of the Space Needle. Give me the KIRO of the 1980’s when they were on fire.
