Megyn Kelly is expected to wind down her 9 a.m. ‘Today’ show hour by the end of the season, THR reported late Wednesday.
Megyn Kelly Today will be airing re-runs in wake of the NBC News host’s controversial comments about wearing blackface and amid an uncertain future surrounding her place at the network.
As The Hollywood Reporter reported on Wednesday, Kelly was absent Thursday and will also not appear on the Friday episode of her show, the 9 a.m. hour of Today. “Given the circumstances, Megyn Kelly Today will be on tape the rest of the week,” a spokesperson for NBC News said in a statement on Thursday.
The host is expected to end her show on the 9 a.m. hour of Today by the end of the season, a source told THR. Kelly was set to meet with executives to work out the future of her role at the network. During meetings held before the eruption from her blackface remarks, Kelly had expressed a desire to cover more news and politics and move away from the lighter fare she often covers on her morning show. Now, backlash from the remarks seem to have only exacerbated the conversation about the future of both Megyn Kelly Today and Kelly at NBC. It’s unclear what NBC News would put in place of Kelly’s show.

First they came for the straight white males, then they came for the gay white males, now it’s time to take down the straight white females. As we’ve seen on the CBC, there will soon be NO white people of any orientation at all permitted on the public airwaves. Then the suits will wonder why nobody is watching anymore.
I’m sure the comment didn’t help, but that show had been hanging on a string for a while. NBC can’t find a place for her “talent”. Kelly’s Sunday night show was a bust and, now this. Moving from the adversarial debate format of her Fox show to a topic driven conversation format (Sunday nights or mid-mornings) was doomed to fail. Kelly has the on-air presence & compassion of a sock puppet.
NBC will pay her out, she’ll spend a year off the air, then show up again on Fox if they’ll have her. Back on the right and sitting in between the pundits in time for the lead up to the November 2020 shit show.
About time she goes. Can’t stand her show. Bring back Al and Dylan and Craig for the hour.
I never did like Kelly all that much. She always was of the opinion that she herself was very precious and much more knowledgeable on any subject she commented on.
Once i got to know her act i grew tired of it very quickly, in reality she is “Really only aLwgend in Her Mothers Basement”, much like our old pal TIM.
Never saw her at NBC but I agree with the comments here that PC SJW Culture is very quickly having a most detrimental affect on Media and Society in General.
Personally from what I saw in the NBC Segment of the Kelly Comments I thought she was not really offending anyone. If you watch closely you might look over her shoulder and see someone who appears to be a Black Woman apparently Nodding In Agreement with what Kelly was saying.
That action by that Woman has not been mentioned in any News Reports I have seen since.
Again, did not like much about her but I believe she was treated unfairly and because of that and other silly PC Culture we are on a very slippery slope and we are “Losing Traction” very quickly.
