Corus Radio is pleased to announce Don Kollins as the new Program Director at its FM stations in Winnipeg, Manitoba, including Peggy 99.1 and Power 97. Don brings more than 25 years of experience to the Corus team, having worked in multiple formats as promotions director, music director, and program director with companies such as Rawlco Radio, Rogers Communications, and most recently with Entercom Communications in San Francisco, California. Don was born and raised in Saskatchewan, and built his career and love for radio in markets across Canada.
I remember hearing (and airchecking) Don on 13/CJME on my one and only trip to regina in May 1997. (I believe he was also PD). Great delivery; I wish I knew where the tape was hiding. Don had just flown to LA to meet Dr. Laura Shlesinger, who was a pretty big deal at the time.
WOW , I thought Donny would stay in San Fran a little longer but that Prairie Pull is strong. We worked together twice– Z99/CJME Regina in the mid-80’s and Ottawa Majic 100/Energy 1200 in the early 90’s.
