As reported by Gord Lansdell at his Northwest Broadcasters website, former CKNW Production Director Kenny Harris died yesterday, December 10, in Brandon, England. He was in his late 80s.
He was Production Director from 1977 through the early 1980s. He had worked in radio in Calgary in the early ’70s, as well as in Bermuda, both before coming to Canada around 1970 and after leaving CKNW.
Harris was also a popular jazz drummer, known in the British music industry as ‘Mr. Brushes’. He was a music recording engineer and producer for many years, and owned the Kneptune record label and publishing company. He continued to keep in touch in recent years with a number of people associated with the industry in Vancouver.
