SEATTLE-TACOMA: Another Public Spectacle
For the third month in a row, UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON N/T KUOW was #1 6+ (6.2-6.3). However, HUBBARD Top 40/M KQMV (MOVIN) ended its four-book slide (5.3-6.0) to move up to #2 and narrow the gap. BONNEVILLE Talk KIRO-F invoked the 12th man and posted its best book since JANUARY (4.9-5.7) to move up to #3. HUBBARD AC KRWM (WARM) slipped to #4 with its lowest mark since NOVEMBER (5.5-4.9). It was partnered with iHEARTMEDIA Classic Hits KJR-F (THE JET), which remained in place but with its lowest number since MARCH (5.1-4.9). CBS RADIO Classic Rock KZOK slipped to #6 with its smallest share since we were forced to suffer through that stupid Grinch song (4.9-4.2). Really -– does that thing test?
The trio atop the 25-54 leaderboard was unchanged from our last visit. KQMV was #1 and ended a four-book slide. ENTERCOM Active Rock KISW was flat and stable at #2 while CBS RADIO Adult Hits KJAQ (JACK) returned at #3 with a slight increase. Last month four stations were tied at #5. This time they went their separate ways. KIRO-F was up to #4 with its best share in over a year. KJR-F remained in place with a flat performance. KZOK fell to #8 while ENTERCOM Alternative KNDD (THE END) ended up at #10 with its lowest total since JANUARY. KRWM slipped to #6 as it lost a chunk of share and was paired with KUOW, which was up from #9 with a slight increase.
There was quite a bit of change 18-34. Last month KQMV and KISW were tied at #1. Both stations had increases this time but one was quite a bit larger than the other. MOVIN’ remained in the lead and hit double digits for the first time since MARCH. KISW moved back to #2 even though the station had its best book in over a year. KNDD remained at #3 with a slight decrease. There were two newcomers in the top five. ENTERCOM Rhythmic AC KHTP (HOT) moved from #8 to #4 as it ended a seven-book slide. HUBBARD Rock KVRQ advanced four squares to #5 as it regained almost all of last month’s loss. iHEARTMEDIA Top 40/M KPWK (POWER) had its best share since MAY to jump six spots to #6. With two stations in, that logically means two stations were excused from the top five. KJR-F dropped to #7 as it ended a strong two-book surge while iHEARTMEDIA Hot AC KBKS (KISS) shared that space as it gave back most of last month’s massive gain.
Once again, KQMV was #1 18-49 but the station finally ended a four-book slide to open up a wide lead over #2 KISW, which was up slightly. KNDD repeated as the #3 station but with its lowest score since MARCH. The power of the shield drove KIRO-F from a tie at #12 to #4 as the station posted its largest point total in over a year. KJR-F was up a couple of places to #5 just by being flat and was joined there by KJAQ, which was off slightly. KRWM dropped to a tie at #7 with its smallest share since NOVEMBER while ENTERCOM Country KKWF (THE WOLF) fell four places to #9.
