The journalist also has left CAA for WME.
Katie Couric is leaving her full-time post at Yahoo and is also departing agency CAA for WME.
The journalist had been global anchor for Yahoo News — a position created for her in 2013. She re-upped with a $10 million deal in 2015, the same year she became a special contributor for ABC News as part of an expanded partnership between the two companies. Rather than extending her contract with Yahoo parent company Oath, Couric has struck a pact to work with the Verizon subsidiary on a project basis.
Couric has been active as a producer with multiple outlets, including developing Netflix’s Unbelievable, a scripted drama based on the Pulitzer-winning ProPublica article “An Unbelievable Story of Rape” and produced by CBS TV Studios, National Geographic’s upcoming six-part docuseries follow-up to her special Gender Revolution: A Journey With Katie Couric earlier this year, and FYI’s Scraps, a cooking and travel show hosted by chef Joel Gamoran. Couric herself is featured with husband John Molner on the cooking web series Full Plate With Katie & John, and she continues to host an eponymous podcast featuring leaders in news, politics and pop culture as guests, including Alec Baldwin, Samantha Bee, Nate Silver, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Sen. Al Franken.
