Bill O’Reilly has blamed his ouster from Fox News on “completely unfounded claims” that have been leveled against him.
The embattled news anchor and longtime pillar of Fox News was dropped Wednesday by the network he helped build amid a steady stream of allegations that he engaged in sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior toward women over the years.
“Over the past 20 years at Fox News, I have been extremely proud to launch and lead one of the most successful news programs in history, which has consistently informed and entertained millions of Americans and significantly contributed to building Fox into the dominant news network in television,” O’Reilly said. “It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims. But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today. I will always look back on my time at Fox with great pride in the unprecedented success we achieved and with my deepest gratitude to all my dedicated viewers. I wish only the best for Fox News Channel.”

This old fossil thinking that he can still get away with treating women in the Roger Ailes way. The settlement and the fact that he can still find work if somebody will take a chance on him. Fox wouldnt pay out to ex-employees unless they were certain to lose their cases. Hope the late night talk shows dont have him on any more, as well.
Without prejudice
Just to be clear: what claims are unfounded? The claims that he and Fox spent 13 million dollars to have go away? The claims that he is a sexual predator? Or newer claims that are surfacing that put Fox in an untenable position?
More than likely its an example of the young Murdochs who are taking over the operation of the business and are getting constantly ribbed by their lib upper-class neighbours about owning Fox. They will probably move it towards the centre, lose a large chunk of their ratings lead and a new outlet will probably open up leaving them to duke it out with another ratings loser CNN.
It should not have been a surprise to the Murdochs that OReilly had a dark side when you hear about the Loofah tapes which happened many years ago.
