The third sportstalk station in Seattle, KFNQ AM 1090 THE FAN, has cancelled its only local weekday programming. This as part of the termination of some 200 employees yesterday at CBS Radio operations across the US.
THE FAN’s 3 pm program hosts STEVE SANDMEYER and JASON CHURCHILL have been let go. SANDMEYER tweeted, “Was informed @1090TheFan will be fully syndicated effective immediately. @ProspectInsider (CHURCHILL) and I are no longer at the station. Thanks to all.”

The best sports show in the Seattle area is off the air. If you didn’t have a chance to hear it the combination of information, humor, interviews and inside/outside jokes made this Sandmeyer show superior to any other, IMO. I hope he and Jason are given a chance elsewhere with similar freedom.
Pretty sad. Thought they were a great alternative to the other two stations at that time.
Yep, big bummer, this was my favorite Seattle-area sports show. Hope they catch on at another station soon.
