Seattle-Tacoma: Movin’ Along Nicely
Over the last 14 surveys, HUBBARD Top 40/M KQMV (MOVIN) has been #1 6+ in all but three of them. And, two of those instances were the product of elvish magic. The station won for the fifth straight survey (6.6-6.9) and extended its lead over ENTERCOM Active Rock KISW, which remained mired in second place (6.0-5.8). CBS RADIO Classic Rock KZOK announced its presence with authority as it moved up three places to #3 with its best score in over a year (4.9-5.6). BONNEVILLE Talk KIRO-F remained at #4 (5.1-5.0) while ENTERCOM Country KKWF (THE WOLF) dropped to #5 (5.3-4.9). For the first time in over a year, HUBBARD AC KRWM (WARM) was not in the top five. The station slid to sixth with its smallest number since SEPTEMBER (5.0-4.6).
Each of the top five stations 25-54 remained exactly as they were last month and all had slight decreases. KISW was #1 for the second book in a row and maintained its full-share lead over #2 KQMV. KZOK was a solid #3 with KKWF resting comfortably at #4. CRISTA Christian Contemporary KCMS (SPIRIT) had its lowest total since SEPTEMBER but remained at #5. Going further it turns out the top seven stations remained unchanged. CBS RADIO Adult Hits KJAQ (JACK) was off slightly at #6 while KIRO-F was flat at #7.
This was the third book in a row that KQMV cracked double digits 18-34 but only its second consecutive #1. KISW – which hit double digits and #1 in MARCH – has been losing share ever since as it remained #2. KKWF was an island unto itself at #3 while iHEARTMEDIA Top 40/R KUBE moved up three spots to #4 with its highest share in over a year. ENTERCOM Alternative KNDD (THE END) slipped to #5 with its third down book in a row. The two stations that were tied at #5 last month retained their partnership this time though at one spot lower in the standings. iHEARTMEDIA Top 40/M KBKS (KISS) and ENTERCOM Rhythmic AC KHTP (HOT) were both up slightly.
KISW could not three-peat 18-49. Its run of double-digit books ended at two and it fell back to #2 behind KQMV, which had a solid increase. KKWF had its lowest number since DECEMBER but held firm at #3. KCMS had its smallest share since SEPTEMBER to remain at #4. It was joined by KZOK, which advanced two places with its best book since JULY. KHTP ended a six-book surge and dropped back to #7.
