With $65.9 million in revenue in 2014, iHeartMedia’s Los Angeles CHR KIIS-FM is the new number-one billing radio station in America, according to BIA/Kelsey.
Hubbard’s WTOP, which held the top spot for the previous four years, dropped to number two, taking in approximately $63.5 million — the same amount that helped the all-news station take the top spot in 2013.
Rounding out the top five are: WHTZ-FM in New York (iHeartMedia), with $51 million; WCBS-AM in New York (CBS Radio), with $49.2 million; and KBIG-FM in Los Angeles (iHeartMedia), with $42.9 million.
The top five billing stations in 2013 were WTOP, KIIS-FM, and New York stations WHTZ-FM, WCBS-AM, and WLTW-FM. KBIG-FM jumped past WLTW-FM in 2014, continuing its rise. In 2012 KBIG-FM, owned by iHeartMedia, was 13th, and last year it came in seventh.
