Crappin bricks in NW land. The loss in the most notably the male demographic at NW has got to have the putzes at NW(dying)980 and Corus crappin bricks.
It looks as if CFMI (the one thing Corus looks to be doing ok with in the greater Vancouver market ) and TSN1040 benefited most from the drop off of male listeners at NW980. Females stay stagnant at a modest 2.4 there.
CBC Radio One is certainly kicking arse and taking names.
As for AM730 and TSN1410, PLEASE PULL THE PLUG! Who in their right mind would want to advertize at either station? I hear crows cawing and crickets chirping at each.
But back to the dying dog CKNW980. when an all news CKWX1130 (with constant ie: boring, repeats of news, weather and traffic ) draws near as many listeners as NW is truly sad for all of us who spent many of our years tuned near religiously to NW98. Notice how I use the old NW98 monicker to denote its glory years.
I suspect more cost cutting at the dying dog will only result in lower PPM numbers as time passes. BUT BUT BUT! The MOTH RADIO HOUR joining NW on weekends will turn it all around NOT!
Koeningfest and all the over paid Corus PUTZES are getting what they truly deserve.
HOPEFULLY PINK SLIPS FOR THEM ALL!
Again I use to be a near religious listener to NW98, meh not so much today. 🙁
Time to pull the plug on 104.9 Sonic(now Kiss)… Kid Carson is clearly not making much of a difference there. The Beat morning show is wayyyy better. 104.9 needs a MAJOR revamp in format and personalities.
I would love to know how many listeners manage to keep NW on the dial Sat and Sundays. Beyond Jill Bennets morning show and Micheal Campbells spot its dead air untill Sean Leslie comes. on for a couple of hours. Then its dead air again untill Coast to Coast come on at 10pm.
tedmothlab=dead air. infomercials=dead air.
I too was once a NW constant listener. These days when Shedon, Silly Sara, Eekford and Dreck come on I feel gray cells committing suicide, so of course change the station.
Len (above) and various others did an analysis. Davis Bray is not doing an analysis. Roget’s Thesaurus says: Analysis a close or systematic study; synonyms; examine, inspect, investigate.
None of this was done. Let’s call a spade a spade. This isn’t analysis, it is a report.
Pity about NW. The canned weekend stuff is awful.
With you Les.
