Word just into Puget Sound Radio, GM Gerry Siemens has “retired” effective immediately from the GM position in Vancouver. Word has it that the acting GM will be Rick Arnish.
Gerry just posted this on his facebook page
After 22 great years, my relationship with the Pattison Broadcast Group came to an end yesterday. I leave behind the finest team I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I love you guys!!! I also leave with epic respect for Jim Pattison who has taught me so much!! Whatever is next, it will be hard to match what I’ve just grown through!
PSR wishes Gerry all the best in his retirement.
I worked for this guy and honestly I would not have recognized him.
I wonder if this ‘retirement’ has anything to do with the terrible results at the Peak (*as I call it, ‘The Valley”) and JR, in the recent book?
If that’s the case, how does one Eric Stafford (GM @ Pattison-Calgary) hang onto his gig? The Peak in Calgary is battling Comedy Radio for worst share, and KOOL has never been a ratings winner either. How much longer before something gets turned upside down there. The Peak is laughable in every aspect.
Gerry is one of the good guys in the business. I worked for him when he was with Shaw Communications as the Program Manager of CISN FM. I admired his ability to get right to the point of the matter. No nonsense guy with terrific programming abilities. Enjoy whatever you do next Gerry!
