E! reality star Bruce Jenner was involved in a Malibu car crash that killed one person on Saturday, law enforcement officials confirm.
He was not injured in the accident.
Contrary to reports, L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Phillip Brooks said that Jenner was not being chased by paparazzi at the time of the accident.
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” patriarch rear-ended a vehicle on the Pacific Coast Highway, which resulted in the driver’s death.
Family members have told TMZ that the former Olympian was chased by five paparazzi vehicles when he slammed into the car.
But Brooks told KNBC the claims were “unlikely.”
Jenner did tell the authorities that photographers were nearby, as usual, but they didn’t play a factor in the accident.
A gray Prius reportedly slowed two cars ahead of Jenner, according to to deputies, which caused the Sedan to pause in front of Jenner’s SUV. The driver of the Sedan, an elderly woman, was pushed into oncoming traffic and killed when her vehicle was struck head-on by a Hummer.
Four drivers were involved in the collision. Five others were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
