The CRTC has rejected Newcap’s plan to move their transmitter for CKKO-FM (K96.3 Classic Rock) to the top of Okanagan Mountain, which the proponents ostensibly proposed as a solution to their reception problems in West Kelowna.
The CRTC says the change would have made the station well received in Penticton, and would have turned CKKO into a regional station. Several Penticton operators had intervened in the application process to oppose it.
