Daughter Melissa Rivers provides update
Joan Rivers has moved into a private room and is “comfortable,” daughter Melissa Rivers said in a brief statement Wednesday.
“My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support,” Melissa Rivers wrote.
The statement came a day after she said her mother remains on life support. Joan Rivers was taken Thursday to Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York after she stopped breathing during throat surgery at her doctor’s office. The 81-year old was later placed in a medically-induced coma.
“On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we’ve received. At this time she does remain on life support,” Melissa Rivers wrote Tuesday. “I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers.”
